If you can't adjust the desk, I'd try either adjusting your chair (maybe add a footstool) or even finding a place to put your regular desk and give up the built in one. It's not worth the pain, or possible surgery in future. Ouch, I feel for you.

This one happens to have a built in desk but I can't seem to find the right position for my keyboard resulting in very painful wrists at the end of the day.
